page3How long will the treatment sessions last?

The initial consultation, which includes treatment will usually last an hour. Subsequent treatments usually last between half an hour to 45 minutes although this may vary depending on your condition

How many treatments will I need?

After initial assessment we will be able to give you some idea regarding how much treatment you will need. Sometimes one or two treatments are all that is required, but on more long-standing or chronic conditions a course of treatment may be needed.

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

No, not necessarily. You may have a consultation without a doctor's referral. Often contact is made with your GP to inform him/her that you have had Physiotherapy, and to inform them of the outcome. However, should you wish us not to establish contact with your GP, we will not do so.

Will my private insurance cover the cost of treatment?

Most private medical insurance schemes provide cover for physiotherapy, although it is wise to check your insurance details before commencing a course of treatment. Most private medical insurance schemes provide cover only when treatment is administered by an HPC registered physiotherapist and they often require a letter of referral or signature from your GP and/or consultant. Physio-plus is registered with most major health insurance companies.

Is it easy to park?

Yes, there is ample free parking at the clinic

May I bring someone with me?

You are welcome to bring someone with you into the treatment room for part or all of your treatment.

How will you decide which treatment is best for me?

A detailed assessment will be carried out at the first session, which will take into account physical an emotional factors as well as past and current medical history. From this, a treatment plan which is unique to each individual will be carried out.

How do I make an appointment to see you?

The easiest way to make contact is by telephone. If we are busy or unable to answer the telephone you can leave your name and contact number and we will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also make contact by e-mail and via this web site.

Is there disabled access?

Yes. There is a ramp at the entrance of the centre, and the Physiotherapy clinic is on ground level.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes, I am able to accept credit cards & debits cards. Unfortunately I am unable to accept American Express.

What happens if I cancel an appointment?

If you give me more than 24 hours notice there will be no charge. If however, you give less than 24 hours notice the full charge may be made.
If you fail to attend the appointment without notice I will unfortunately have to invoice you for the full amount.

What should I wear?

Wear loose and comfortable clothing as I will need to look at the area concerned and this may mean that you have to remove some clothing. It might be useful to wear shorts if you are attending for a lower limb problem.
